Kenny,

Post by g4mki Wed Dec 30, 2015 9:43 am

Hi Kenny,
One of the reasons I made my XP Pro machine dual boot was to run xr32 in Linux. I ran into exactly the same problem. From memory, Dick down in South Africa makes the setup sound so simple, but I could not get it to work. Kept asking for the windows driver which it isn't supposed to need in Linux.
If you do get it running I could do with some pointers!
I also tried to setup Uronode on the pi, but concluded that it was beyond my capability at the moment, so I am stuck with the xp home version on a very old computer which is already well past its sell by date.

Hello Duncan
My G7VJA-5 xr32 is running on Linux Mint v17.2 and links with your G4MKI-8 BPQ
it also links to my GB7COW-5 xr32 & GB7COW-3 Bpq
all the RF is done by GB7COW-5 xrouter
i can email my config for you to look over and edit to suit your needs.
G7VJA : HART should be in your BPQ node list

i also tried Uronode but gave up trying, found it too involved to setup.
plus very little help by those who use it.

my g7vja-5 xr32 pages should be working,
let me know if they do not.

Hi Duncan
Here is a working sample from my  linux xr32,you should be able to use this one in your config
all i have done is change the ip address, this will use port 93
at the moment my g7vja-5 xr32 links with your Bpq port 10098 which
does not seem to do a lot.
i would like to link my xr32 to your xr32 when you get the linux working.
Paula G8PZT is working on a LinXR version, but no date set for any release

PORT=26
      ID=AXUDP Link with G7VJA

Post by g4mki Fri Jan 01, 2016 10:28 am

Hi Kenny,
Happy New Year! Very Happy
Thanks for the IPLINK info. I have been a busy boy.
I setup xr32 in Ubuntu, and whilst I was setting up the PORTS, I noticed that the IPLINK address I was using was 192.168.0.249...that can't be right I said to myself!.
This time around, with Ubuntu, I followed Dick's info, removed all the interface/ports info except interface/port 99, changed iproute.sys to the single line IP ROUTE DEFAULT 0 * w and started xr32. Initially, I got a black screen and error report (10046, or similar). I then hashed out my own ipaddress in xrouter.cfg and tried again, and voila xr32 loaded. Progress at last.
The error report I suspect points to an ip problem, yet to be resolved.
I have now added my complete iproute.sys and some ports..my AGW port is working. When I unhash my ipaddress in xrouter.cfg the program still crashes.
I need to investigate further.
The next surprise....After rebooting to WinXP Pro, I loaded the win driver, started xr32 and it started up! Progress!!!
Obviously I will need to close down xr32 on my old pc and reassign all my router ports to get it all working properly.
It looks as though I may end up with xr32 working in XP Pro and Ubuntu

My link to HART is now working using the AXUDP port values you sent.
It was originally an AVIP port.( On XP Home)

Kenny,
G4MKI-5 (SSID=5)
Yesterday I removed UDP 10098 which was the BPQ link to you..I will put it back. (You suggested it with the AXIP>AXUDP port change).

Something strange in your iproute.sys:

IP route add 192.168.0.1/32 192.168.0.1 12d
and:
IP route default 12 192.168.0.1 d

My understanding is that 12 d means port12 datagram, where port 12 was the Ethernet port in the windows version of xr32
There is no port 12 in your xrouter.cfg

Should 12 be at the beginning of the route default line for linux?

Soory Duncan
You are right about 12 d is only for the windows version
i put the wrong iproute.sys in the zip
this is the one i am using (below) for linux.

; ROUTE <default> <portnum> [<gateway> [<mode>] ]
; ==============================================
IP ROUTE DEFAULT 0 * w

Hello Duncan
not sure how far you have got with the xr32 config.
what i was going to suggest to you is, start with port 99 only
hash out all the others for now
see if xr32 will load without errors being reported.
then we can work on the other ports as we go along.

also how are you starting linux xr32
what commands are you using

Post by g4mki Sat Jan 02, 2016 5:42 pm

Hi Kenny,
I have already done that, and the problem persists, as soon as I unhash my ipaddress I get an error report.

I am wondering if Ubuntu 15.04 64 bit is the right platform for xr32.
Earlier versions upto 12.04 have reported success.

The rest of xrouter.cfg loads except my port 20 (AXUDP Link to G7VJA-5)

I will try a cut and paste of my xrouter.cfg and iproute.sys. files

I can't run xr32 on a Raspberry Pi, it wont support Wine...it needs a 'proper' processor.

I can't understand why, with my ipaddress and port 20 hashed out, xr32 boots ok and port 99 defaults to G7JVA-5.when there is no reference to  G7VJA-5 in either of my config files. Where on earth is it coming from?
Port 24 to GB7CIP-5 does not appear to load..it is not on the Nodes page

Duncan
what error are you getting??

hash out all the ports except port 99
then try and run xr32
will it run with port 99 only
change these two lines to my static ip

Xrouter - XR32 Empty Re: Xrouter - XR32

Kenny,
By right clicking on xr32.exe in /home/xr32 in the file browser and in the pop-up window 'open with' and left click on 'wine windows loader'...

Just to bring you upto speed I have replaced Ubuntu with the 64bit version of linuxmint 17.3 'Rosa'. So my dual boot computer is now Windows XP Pro/LinuxMint.

It is a completely 'clean' system apart from installing Wine and creating a folder xr32 in  /home e.g /home/xr32. I have copied into that all the files from an old copy of xr32 which I had stored on a USB memory stick, plus updated versions of xrouter.cfg and iproute.sys . I have done an 'ls-l' on the contents of the directory to determine ownership (all root) and sudo chmod +x on xr32.exe.

I am getting similar, though not exactly the same errors as I have already reported with Ubuntu.

If I comment out my ipaddress and port 20 (AXUDP Link to G7VJA) xr32 boots and I can connect to HBXR32 using c 99 HBXR32. I cannot do anything else.

The error report relating to my ipaddress:
XROUTER.CFG: ERROR in line 403 - Proto 1 socket creation error 10044

The error relating to port 20:
XROUTER.CFG: ERROR in line 403 - Port 20 AXUDP initialisation error 20013

I am not getting an error report from Port 24 (AXUDP link to GB7CIP-5

Note: the line number is the same for both error reports even though the problems appear near the top and bottom of the config file.

If my ipaddress and port 20 are commented out, xr32 runs on port 99. So the first problem to resolve revovlves around IPADDRESS=44.131.255.164, that is the crux.
